Funselektor has announced that over the hill is officially launching on PC via Steam on October 14, 2026, with console versions for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 to follow in 2027. A physical edition has also been confirmed, with preorders expected to begin after the PC release, “around the console release date announcement.”
While there are already several off-road driving games on the market, over the hill has managed to catch the community’s attention thanks in large part to the banger of a demo Funselektor released a couple of months ago. And thanks to that early look, the devs were able to gather feedback and also communicate exactly what we can expect for the launch build.
A few things that came up are the available regions at launch which will be Canada and Algeria. More regions are coming post-launch especially if the game does well, alongside some free updates and paid DLCs. Another one is that while the game supports multiplayer, local co-op will not be available at all.
One of the biggest questions during the demo period was how many vehicles players could expect to drive when the full game launches. According to the devs, players will start with three vehicles, with that number expected to grow to around 20 vehicles post-launch. Funselektor is tight-lipped on what specific cars will be at launch or even after launch but we sure hope to see a Jeep Honcho and Nissan Patrol G60 in the lineup.

You can hop behind the wheel solo or with up to three friends to navigate real-world-inspired landscapes, working together to use tools like winches and planks to bypass terrain obstacles.
