With a recent official announcement, the team at CCP Games revealed the chance to finally try their game, EVE Vanguard.
EVE Vanguard is a first-person shooter developed by the CCP Games team. The game is set in the same universe as the acclaimed Eve Online. A project in development since at least 2023, but one that has been taking more concrete shape recently.
Vanguard offers an MMO-style approach, reminiscent of Dust 514, a beloved but overly ambitious FPS released exclusively on PS3 in 2013. Many hope that Vanguard will capture what Dust 514 promised, thanks to improved accessibility and advancements in the game.
EVE Vanguard: Prepare for Conquest and Join the Playtest
With an announcement on 19 November 2024, the CCP Games team shared the date for the first Playtest of EVE Vanguard. Dubbed Operation YC126.11.28: Groundbreak, it features a 9v9 battle to capture Artillery Cannons.
The Playtest will run from 28 November to 9 December 2024. To join, you’ll need to connect to the game’s Official Discord, where details on how to redeem Playtest access will be shared soon. You can find the Official Discord through the link in the official announcement below:

EVE Vanguard delivers a faction-based MMOFPS, where player battles and victories impact the War. It’s reminiscent of Planetside but expands further with a personal progression system, including NPC base raids and blueprints for unlocking new arsenal.
Another exciting aspect is how Vanguard will integrate with the Eve universe, featuring special events and content ties to Eve Online. Fans can finally get hands-on with this during the Playtest. Time will tell if Vanguard lives up to expectations and delivers what many hoped for with Dust 514.
