Capcom officially shuts Resident Evil Re:Verse servers down and removes the game and all of its DLC from storefronts. The shooter launched in 2022, hitting an all-time and disappointing high of 2,080 players on Steam.
Released in 2022, Resident Evil Re:Verse, was Capcom’s attempt at offering an online PvP shooter for the horror franchise. Unfortunately, June 30, 2025, marked the end of the game as Capcom shut down its servers and pulled it from stores.
The shooter is no longer available for purchase and Capcom has taken it down from all storefronts along with its DLC.

What Led to the Shutdown?
Re:Verse came in a bundle free with Resident Evil Village, featuring a PvP game mode and iconic characters from throughout the franchise. However, Resident Evil Re:Verse failed to capture the imagination of fans accustomed to single-player horror experiences
With an all-time peak of 2080 concurrent players on Steam at launch in October 2022, Re:Verse fell to 90 the following month. In its three-year lifespan, the game saw between 15 and 25 players. Even in its final days, it only hit a peak of 91 concurrent players.
What Was Re:Verse Supposed to Be?
Resident Evil Re:Verse was a third-person shooter featuring a 6v6 team deathmatch game mode in which players battled for points as various RE characters.
The game was a fresh take on the franchise, aiming to bring fan-favorite characters and fans together in fast-paced, chaotic deathmatch action. Ultimately, Capcom’s long-term plans for multiplayer support are on hold after fans didn’t take to the game, resulting in its demise.

Unfortunately for fans of the series, it seems Capcom is done with a multiplayer Resident Evil experience for now, as the developer focuses on survival horror with the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem.
