Tales of Xillia Remastered Announced: Revisit Rieze Maxia this October!

Tales of Xillia (ToX) is the action RPG and thirteenth main installment in Bandai Namco’s Tales of series. The title was originally released in 2011 in Japan and localized in 2013 as a PS3 exclusive. It takes us to the world of Elympios, at the center of a profound change with the continent of Rieze Maxia. Following the adventures of Jude Mathis and the mysterious Milla.

With a journey that will change the destiny of humans and spirits. Upon its original release, it was a huge success both in Japan, with over 500,000 copies sold in a week, and in the West as the best-selling game of August 2013. Tales of Xillia Remastered: Official Announcement and Release Date

Following the rumors and then initial leaks, Bandai Namco has decided to officially announce Tales of Xillia Remastered. The announcement came on 19 August 2025, unveiling the remastered edition of the former PS3 exclusive. It will debut on 31 October 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The announcement was accompanied by the Official Trailer, which also celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the series. Featuring a mix of gameplay and the original intro of the game. We will follow the adventures of Jude and Milla in a new story that will have a strong impact on the destiny of humans and spirits. It also showcases some of the new features, including QoL improvements, DLCs, and enhanced graphics.

Tales of Xillia: What’s new in the Remastered version

Following the Remaster of Graces f, it’s now Xillia’s turn. The team is bringing the definitive experience of the thirteenth chapter with ToXR. Offering various new features including enhanced graphics, QoL improvements, and DLCs, more specifically:

• Graphics and Resolution: Offering graphics with sharper textures, supporting resolutions up to 4K at 60 fps (120 fps on PC).

• Gameplay Improvements: The Grade Shop is available from the first Run, a Dash function to run faster in the overworld, and icons on the minimap.

• Additional Features: Various features for an improved experience. Such as the ability to disable encounters, a Retry function, auto-saves, and subtitles in combat.

• Customizations: Ability to customize controls, as well as the volume of music, cutscenes, and voices. Plus, the option to choose Japanese or English voice-overs.

Bringing a complete package of the original’s DLCs, offering well over 40 DLCs including costumes and useful items for the adventure. The Remaster announcement is also accompanied by an overview from the series’ Producer, Yusuke Tomizawa, who confirms that more surprises are coming until December 2026 as part of the series’ 30th Anniversary.
