Vampire Crawlers, Poncle’s New Roguelike Deckbuilder Launching in 2026

Poncle, the acclaimed developer of viral hit Vampire Survivors, has announced its next title, a roguelike deckbuilder spin-off, Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildercard from Vampire Survivors, launching in 2026 for PC and consoles.

Vampire Crawlers turns the intense and chaotic action of Vampire Survivors into a turn-based, card-driven first-person dungeon crawler, blending retro “BLOBBER” mechanics with modern roguelike elements.

Speaking to Xbox, Poncle founder and CEO Luca Galante called it the “first in a series of spin-offs,” with the game set to launch in 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.

A First-Person Genre Shift: Deckbuilding in the Dungeons

Vampire Crawlers shifts the series from a top-down action bullet hell to a first-person, grid-based dungeon crawler “BLOBBER” perspective, focusing on a party-based RPG system where players use a custom deck of cards as weapons, abilities, and skills to defeat hordes of enemies.

Galente is keen to stress that approaching every run is up to the player, with the core card system designed to offer accessibility and flexibility. Players can decide to play tactically and methodically or unleash chaos by blitzing through dungeons with tremendous power and speed.

Mastering the Turbo-Turn and World-Ending Combos

The core gameplay loop focuses on the turbo-turn system, with players able to play cards in ascending mana order to build powerful combos, multiplying effects and damage through synergies that create screen-filling chaos as found in Vampire Survivors.

Blending multiple genres for a unique experience, Vampire Crawlers also offers players expected mechanics, such as treasure chests, weapon evolutions, and the ability to unlock something new after every run.

Familiar Faces and Future Plans for Vampire Crawlers

Building on the unprecedented success of its original game, Poncle’s upcoming Vampire Crawlers will feature returning characters from Vampire Survivors, each with a distinct set of abilities that will complement the deckbuilding process.

The game is set to launch in early to mid-2026, releasing for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. Galante has also confirmed it will launch day one on the Xbox Game Pass.
