Star Trek Resurgence Getting Delisted Months After Dramatic Labs Disappeared

Star Trek Resurgence is being delisted after Dramatic Labs vanished. Grab it on Steam or consoles before licensing issues pull it for good.

Star Trek Resurgence is already heading for delisting, not even three years after its original release. The narrative-driven title quietly built a following among fans of choice-based storytelling, but its lifespan in digital storefronts is being cut short. The situation didn’t come out of nowhere either as there’s been a growing sense of uncertainty ever since developer Dramatic Labs went silent last year and “left” the game in a strange limbo.

Star Trek Resurgence Delisting Announcement

Star Trek Resurgence is a story-focused adventure set in the Star Trek universe, built around player choices, dialogue decisions, and branching outcomes. Developed by a team of Telltale veterans, it puts players in the boots of two different crew members on the USS Resolute to navigate a high-stakes diplomatic crisis. The gameplay leans heavily on narrative progression, quick-time events, and character interaction.

Despite being a relatively young title (barely 3 years), Dramatic Labs recently announced its upcoming delisting. While the update posted on Steam didn’t include a specific removal date, it’ll be any day now as it’s already no longer available for purchase on Xbox. Other storefronts will likely follow before long.

According to the notice, the delisting comes down to licensing expiration. Players who already own the game won’t lose access as they can still download and play it as usual from their libraries. That part is standard, though it doesn’t make the timing feel any less odd.

While delistings are always a bummer, this one didn’t exactly come as a shock to those following the studio as Dramatic Labs essentially went dark last year. They scrubbed their social media accounts and completely abandoned their official Discord, leaving a voluntary mod who knew nothing of what was happening. Once the studio vanished, most figured it was only a matter of time before the game did, too.

From a business standpoint, it’s not hard to see why things ended up here. Most sales happen near launch and extending licensing agreements isn’t always worth the cost especially with rumors floating around that the Star Trek license fee has gone up significantly. Still, it’s a shame, because the game itself is genuinely enjoyable with a strong story carrying it through.

For anyone who kept putting it off, it gets worse as the game was on sale up until yesterday. Having the studio disappear and then announce a delisting immediately after a sale has left a sour taste for many.

As of writing, Star Trek Resurgence is still available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Nintendo platforms. Its demo is also still up for download if you want a quick look before it’s gone. Sadly, despite making the jump from Epic exclusivity to a wider release, it never managed to make its way to GOG.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
